BRIDGEVIEW – The Illinois Department of Employment Security will begin to restore its in-person workforce and limited unemployment services at the American Job Center in Burbank, State Senator Steve Landek (D-Bridgeview) announced Monday.

“The COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately robbed many people of in-person unemployment insurance service when they needed it most,” Landek said. “I am thrilled to be able to announce the return of these services to residents of the 12th District.”

BRIDGEVIEW – Several local libraries are set to receive over $196,000 in grant funding, State Senator Steve Landek (D-Bridgeview) announced today.

“Libraries are more than just buildings where you can borrow books,” Landek said. “They provide crucial services to residents of all ages, and they need funding.”

The money comes as part of the Illinois Secretary of State’s Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid Grants Program, which was established to ensure that public libraries with low tax bases receive a minimum level of funding for library services. The libraries that will receive grants are:

landek IDOTSPRINGFIELD – Earlier this month, the Illinois Department of Transportation unveiled its multi-year plan for road and bridge improvement projects. State Senator Steve Landek (D-Bridgeview) is pleased to announced over $22 million in funding will be spent on projects in and around the area he represents.

“A few years ago, the General Assembly passed the first statewide construction plan in over a decade, meant to address some of our state’s most pressing infrastructure needs,” Landek said. “I was able to advocate for spending some of those funds on road improvement projects in the Southwest Suburbs, and it’s great to see IDOT making a commitment to fulfilling those construction needs.”
